Rugged Rise

This project was a self-led tiny house for a client of my choice. It was designed for a resident of Boulder, Colorado who was interested in bouldering and worked downtown.

"The client for this tiny house design is a 27-year-old Caucasian female. She is just beginning her career as a software engineer at the Boulder, CO Google. Being a software engineer the client enjoys up to date technology, but she also lives a very active lifestyle between exercise and outdoors sports: such as hiking, rock climbing, and skiing. She loves to have friends and family over to entertain. She also enjoys the mountainous views and of downtown Boulder and wants to be located next to the Central Park because it is in close proximity to everything downtown as well as a 10 min bus ride to work and a 5 min drive to the major hiking trails. The client would like the house to be up to date with technology and contain areas that have space for outdoors gear storage. She also owns a cat."

Meant to fit in a parking space, the program was laid out vertically as to allow for bouldering to the upper floors of the building, as well as along the exterior. The upper floor has access to a patio space with optimal positioning for solar panels that help power the home, and also provides beautiful views to the mountains.
